Citrus based beauty, food and cleaning products, soaps, shampoos, etc.,..Due to the popularity of citrus flavors and aromas, many commercial goods employ fragrant citrus. From time to time, as products come to our attention, we'll review some of them here very briefly.


Perfumes and Fragrances



Claude Dir of Givaudan reportedly developed a fragrance for women using several floral scents, including subtle tone of orange blossom and mandarin orange blossom.  The products containing this fragrance include body lotion and shower gel. The wide array of fragrances that depend upon citrus scents illustrate the vital importance of the citrus industry to perfumeries around the world.

Some Companies offer tours, or have done so in the past.  If you're interested in arranging to visit, check about specific times, dates and costs.

California Citrus State Historical Park

1879 Jackson Street,

Riverside, California 92504



This lovely California state park surrounds Mockingbird Canyon Lake. With picnic facilities and walking trails, it informs visitors about the importance of the citrus industry in the Greater Los Angeles area and California.




Indian River Citrus Museum and Gift Shop



This museum in the heart of Florida's citrus production country provides information and exhibits detailing the development of the citrus industry in Florida. Its archives helped form the basis for a 15-minute segment about the citrus industry in a documentary series produced under the auspices of a Florida university describing the history of the State of Florida.
